Rewinding of the main rotor of a 4 MW generator.

Winding process of the four new polar coils, which will be manufactured with enamelled + 1 x 5.00×7.00 mm fibreglass tape, with Thermal Class F insulation.

During the rewinding process, different insulation measurements are taken to check the effectiveness of the reconstruction process, and once completed, prior to the final connection of the series, a High Frequency Shock Wave test is carried out with a Satisfactory result.

Once the correct winding of the rotor poles is guaranteed, the assembly is impregnated with a solvent-free, single-component impregnation resin that provides a total filling (100%) of the winding with exceptional mechanical resistance at all working temperatures up to class H (180ºC). The product, once cured, exhibits excellent mechanical and electrical properties over the entire working temperature range along with exceptional resistance to moisture and chemicals. Other outstanding properties are its high heat transfer coefficient and lack of auto-ignition temperature.
